What MyHRM pairs with
MyHRM behaves like a generic Bluetooth Low Energy heart-rate monitor. If a device pairs a Bluetooth HR sensor, it should see MyHRM.
No ANT+. MyHRM broadcasts over Bluetooth Low Energy only. Devices that can only use ANT+ heart-rate sensors will not detect it.
One device at a time. Bluetooth heart-rate sensors normally connect to a single device. Disconnect “MyHRM” from your Garmin or another app before pairing it with a Peloton, and vice versa.
Garmin Edge — confirmed
Validated by the pilot tester group across repeated field rides. Both required the same two steps first: disable the phone under Settings → Connected Features, and remove any heart-rate strap already paired on the Edge.
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Garmin Edge 840 | Compatible | Field-validated. Pairs as a Heart Rate sensor once the phone is disabled under Connected Features and any existing HR strap is removed. |
| Garmin Edge 1050 | Compatible | Field-validated. Same procedure as the Edge 840 — disable the phone in Connected Features, remove any active HR sensor, then add “MyHRM”. |
Peloton — confirmed
Validated by a pilot tester. Unlike the Garmin Edge, no special Bluetooth or phone-connection steps were needed.
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Peloton Bike+ | Compatible | Field-validated. “MyHRM” paired directly through the Bike+’s heart-rate sensor pairing flow — no special Bluetooth or phone-connection steps required. |
Garmin Edge — expected compatible
These support Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing but haven’t been individually field-validated yet. Expect the same two-step setup as the confirmed models.
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Edge 1040 / 1040 Solar | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 1030 Plus / 1030 | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 850 | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 840 Solar | Expected compatible | Same family as the validated Edge 840; validate with the same phone- and HRM-disabling steps. |
| Edge 830 / 530 | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 550 | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 540 / 540 Solar | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge Explore 2 / Edge Explore | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
| Edge 130 Plus / 130 | Expected compatible | Supports Bluetooth wireless sensor pairing. |
Peloton — expected compatible
These support standard Bluetooth heart-rate sensor pairing like the Bike+, but haven’t been validated with MyHRM yet.
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Peloton Bike (original) | Expected compatible | Supports standard Bluetooth heart-rate sensor pairing like the Bike+; not yet validated with MyHRM. |
| Peloton Tread / Tread+ | Expected compatible | Supports standard Bluetooth heart-rate sensor pairing; not yet validated with MyHRM. |
| Peloton Row | Expected compatible | Supports standard Bluetooth heart-rate sensor pairing; not yet validated with MyHRM. |
Peloton — needs validation
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Peloton app on iPad or Apple TV | Needs validation | Can connect Bluetooth heart-rate sensors, but it must run on a separate device because the MyHRM iPhone is the one advertising. |
Garmin Edge — not recommended
Older generations that emphasise ANT+ or phone Bluetooth over standard BLE sensor pairing. MyHRM does not broadcast ANT+.
| Device | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Edge 520 / 520 Plus | Not recommended | Older documentation emphasises ANT+ sensor pairing or phone Bluetooth. |
| Edge 820 | Not recommended | Older generation; verify Bluetooth sensor support before relying on MyHRM. |
| Edge 1000 and older | Not recommended | Older generation; MyHRM does not broadcast ANT+. |
“Expected compatible” means the device supports Bluetooth sensor pairing but we haven't validated it directly yet. If you test MyHRM with your own gear, please send a compatibility report — it helps everyone.
